On August 9, at Thien Truong Stadium, Ninh Binh province, the National Football Super Cup 2024-2025 - THACO Cup match took place between Nam Dinh Steel Club, the newest V-League champion, and Hanoi Police Club, the latest National Cup champion. THACO was the tournament sponsor.

The opening ceremony and awards had the participation from Mr. Bui Quang Huy, Alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Mr. Truong Quoc Huy, Ninh Binh Party Secretary, Ms. Le Thi Hoang Yen, Deputy Director of the Department of Physical Education and Sports, journalist Phung Cong Suong, Editor-in-Chief of Tien Phong newspaper. Also, Mr. Le Hoang Lan, Communications Manager at THACO Hanoi Office attended the ceremony.

The National Football Super Cup is an annual tournament organized by Tien Phong newspaper and Vietnam Football Federation (VFF). The match takes place between the V-League Champion and the National Cup champion, or team winning both titles and the National Cup runner-up. Starting from 1999, the tournament aims to honor the sportsmanship and dedication of Vietnam's leading football clubs.

Hanoi Police Club wins this year’s trophy, celebrating their victory

This year, from the opening minutes, the match between Nam Dinh Steel Club and Hanoi Police Club took place excitingly with both sides applying attacking tactics. With their last efforts during stoppage time, Nam Dinh Steel team only managed to narrow the score to 2-3 against Hanoi Police team. The victory brought the first Super Cup title and 300 million VND prize to the capital team.
