Mr Tran Ba Duong and THACO receive First Class Labor Medals

With major contributions to the economy and society, Mr Tran Ba Duong and THACO have been awarded the First Class Labor Medals by Dong Nai People’s Committee on December 15, 2018.
THACO is one of the largest private enterprises in Vietnam, employing more than 60,000 employees in its production value chain, paying thousands of billion dong to the national budget.

The 20-year journey of THACO’s formation and development associates with the leadership and management of Mr Duong. Starting with a small car workshop, Tran Ba Duong has turned his company into the biggest company in Vietnam in the fields of car production, assembly and distribution for international brands such as Kia, Mazda , Peugeot, BMW, Foton, Mitsubishi-Fuso, THACO-branded bus production, developing Chu Lai into an automobile manufacture and assembly center in Vietnam and ASEAN region, and contributing an annual budget of nearly VND20,000 billion.

THACO also invests in other sectors: real estate, trading - services and tourism, agriculture, and logistics. THACO now is home to more than 18,000 employees. Since 2015, THACO has always ranked in the top 10 largest private companies in Vietnam.

Not only focusing on economic development, Mr Tran Ba Duong always embraces the CSR perspective of the company. THACO shares its social responsibilities in many areas such as Homeland Security, Social Security, Traffic Safety, Education, Culture - Arts, Health, Sports, and for the needy. Specifically, THACO has made significant contributions, namely sponsoring the start-up program with VND200 billion, building a two-layered interchange on National Highway 1A to Quang Nam province worth VND600 billion, funding VND80 billion for Road to Olympia TV show for five years, awarding Vietnam football team and coach Park Hang Seo, donating dozens of rural bridges to the difficult provinces, and giving thousands of scholarships to underprivileged students.

Prior to receiving the First Class Labor Medal, Mr Duong also received many other noble awards, such as Second-class Labor Medal in 2011, Vietnam’s Execellent Businessman Award for the fifth consecutive year from 2008 to 2013.

On this occasion, Vice Chairman THACO Nguyen Hung Minh was awarded with Third Class Labor Medal.
