THACO has financed VND5 billion out of a total of over VND13 billion used to build Doc Binh Kieu bridge in Thap Muoi District, Dong Thap province in Vietnam’s Mekong Delta. The bridge spanning Nguyen Van Tiep A Canal officially opened to traffic on July 4.

Thap Muoi District, a remote area in Dong Thap Province, houses many canals and rivers. Although local infrastructure has been improved over the time, the district is still unable to meet local transport needs, especially in rainy seasons.

Understanding this, former Deputy Minister of Public Security Vo Thai Hoa has called on sponsors to provide financial support to build Doc Binh Kieu bridge.

At the bridge opening ceremony, he said, “The bridge has been a dream of the local people for many years. We are greatly thankful to the sponsors who have helped to build it. The bridge has great significance in enabling better transportation and traveling, and boosting provincial economic conditions.”

Also at the event, THACO’s Communications Director Nguyen Mot said that THACO's donation of VND5 billion to build the bridge is the company's social responsibility towards Thap Muoi district and Dong Thap province as well as its tribute to the homeland of the national heroes.

THACO’s annual CSR activities cover different fields such as national defense and security, social security, traffic safety, education, sports, etc. Especially, regarding civil construction works, THACO has funded more than 20 rural bridges in the Mekong Delta provinces with a total of about VND21 billion to date.
