From October 22-29, 19 THACO AUTO’s BMW chassis technicians from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City participated in the 2025 "ICT Service Technician Step 5 - Certification" exam after months of training. This is the sixth year THACO AUTO has partnered with BMW Group to organize the international certification exam.

The ICT Service Technician is a globally recognized certification for BMW technicians. The program comprehensively evaluates professional skills and knowledge of BMW electrical chassis technical staff, ensuring they meet BMW standards in providing maintenance and repair services.

The "ICT Service Technician Step 5 - Certification" exam is the final round of the ICT Service Technician certification program. Technicians must pass the four previous training levels before participating in this exam.

Accordingly, technicians take both theory and practical tests evaluated by instructors from THACO AUTO and BMW RTC Malaysia. In the theory section, technicians take BMW AG's exam on TMSi to test their knowledge of BMW technical skills and repair procedures. While in the practical section, technicians undergo three hands-on tests: electrical systems, engines, and chassis. The tests are designed to evaluate practical skills, problem-solving abilities in repair and maintenance, and customer care skills according to BMW standards.

Practical test under examiner supervision

After completing both tests and undergoing evaluation by technical and training experts from THACO AUTO and BMW, all 19 participants successfully earned the ICT Service Technician Certification, meeting BMW requirements.

Mr. Dam Minh Man, an electrical chassis technician at THACO AUTO Ho Chi Minh City, shared: "The exam requires technicians to master in-depth knowledge, practical experience, and clearly understand the specific characteristics of repairing BMW vehicles. The ICT Service Technician certificate helps me improve my skills and confidently provide customers with safe and convenient service experiences."
