From July 3 to 6, Danang University of Science and Technology (DUT) organized a series of events to celebrate its 50th anniversary (July 11, 1975). THACO was the program’s diamond sponsor.

The events included: anniversary celebration, art performances, international conferences on technological innovation, inauguration ceremony of the National Laboratory of Mechatronics and Applications, 50th anniversaries of the Faculty of Electricity, the Faculty of Mechanics, the Faculty of Power Engineering, the 20th anniversary of the Faculty of Transport Engineering, and alumni meetups.

The 50th anniversary of Danang University of Science and Technology

On July 5, DUT’s 50th anniversary took place with the participation of Mr. Ngo Dong Hai, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Education Commission, Mr. Ha Ban, Deputy Head of the Central Organization Commission, Mr. Hoang Minh Son, Deputy Minister of Education and Training, Mr. Luong Nguyen Minh Triet, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Danang City, representatives of central and local agencies, partners, diplomatic agencies and international organizations, and the school’s former leaders and lecturers.

In his commemorative speech, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Huu Hieu, DUT’s Principal, said: “After 50 years of development, Danang University of Technology has solidified our pioneering role and national responsibility in training a high-quality workforce, making practical contributions to the national development. Up to now, we have trained more than 80,000 engineers, architects, masters, and doctors in many key fields and professions. The school has also expanded cooperation with a diversity of established corporations such as THACO, enabling our students access practical knowledge and improve their professional skills.”

“DUT is determined to create an open, flexible, and dynamic educational ecosystem, where knowledge is aligned with production and business practices, aiming to train engineers with global competitiveness, courage, and aspirations,” affirmed Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Huu Hieu.

At the ceremony, Deputy Minister of Education and Training Hoang Minh Son acknowledged the constant efforts of leaders, staff, and lecturers of the school over the past 50 years, especially in the context of digital transformation and international integration. He believed that with its strong foundation built over generations, solidarity, intelligence, and aspiration for innovation, DUT would continue to elevate its position as a bright spot in the Vietnamese higher education system.

DUT and THACO have partnered for nearly 20 years, during which both have engaged in different activities, including scientific research and technology transfer, training, internships, and post-graduation recruitment, sponsoring machinery and equipment, seeking ways to improve training quality, meeting the human resource needs of THACO and the labor market.

The university has been contributing to THACO's multi-industry development strategy and comprehensive digital transformation by providing high-quality staff majoring in automobiles, mechanics, automation, etc. As of now, THACO has more than 1,200 engineers who graduated from the school. Many of them are senior leaders, holding key positions in the Group. Notably, their young, dynamic, and creative engineers with good adaptability are playing an important role in production projects, product development, technology research, and operations management at THACO.

In the coming time, THACO will continue to strengthen cooperation with DUT as well as major universities and colleges across Vietnam to create an innovative ecosystem, where students have a modern learning environment, promote creative thinking, research capacity, and are ready to integrate into the domestic and international high-quality labor market.
