THACO AUTO and BMW have been making strong investments in building their Direct Current (DC) charging stations. The initiative was a joint cooperation with Charge+, an electric vehicle (EV) charging solution provider in Southeast Asia, seeking to expand a new charging network nationwide, meeting increasing customer demands.

The Vietnamese automaker has put into operation three 120kW DC charging stations at its BMW dealerships in Ho Chi Minh City (BMW Sala), Binh Duong (BMW Binh Duong) and Hanoi (BMW Long Bien). Using the stations, the vehicles will charge up 80% in about 30 minutes, and have a 100% full charge after 45 minutes. BMW iX3, BMW i4 and BMW i7 users are entitled to free charging services at these mentioned locations.

In 2025, THACO AUTO is expected to expand 6 more new DC charging stations in Ho Chi Minh, Da Nang, Hanoi, Can Tho, Nha Trang and Vinh cities, bringing the total number to 9 stations across Vietnam. New charging stations have capacity from 60 kW, with charging time from 30 minutes to 1 hour.

To make this plan work, THACO AUTO has initiated cooperation with Charge+ to develop the station network. The latter is a leading electric vehicle charging solution provider in Southeast Asia, meeting BMW's technical standards. Customers also can charge their vehicles at 17 Charge+ points, making electric vehicle use more convenient.
